One of the most critical questions asked to anyone would be, ' What is time?'.
Now before answering this I would like to clear you all that the answer to it may be subjective. It would be different from person to person.
In my point of view time is "The continuous progress of events that occur and are irreversible and measurable."

Time is one of the hardest concept to understand and to manage.
How you manage your time shows the world where you will be in the next month, in the next year and in your life.

Management of time needs you to invest time.

So without any further a do let us start with the basics of time management.

STEP 1 - Know your goals
To start managing your time, know what you want to achieve. You would have to manage time the way your work needs you to do.
For eg:- If your goal is to perform well in academics then you can't manage time in a way an athlete does. You would have to work like a student.
(Note:- You could manage your time in a combined way that you may manage your more than one goals. But the most basic goal should not be missed.)

STEP 2 - Prioritize
You need to prioritize your works. Give the most time to those which are the most important. Spend the most less time which in least important. 
The tasks that are important but have a longer deadline can be done after the most important once.
If some tasks could be avoided then this would be great.

STEP 3 - Get rid of distractions
Remove all the distracting stuffs around you. Either dump them into the garbage or if you can't (why would you throw your iPhone?) keep them in a place you can't see them while you work.
Getting rid of distractions will boost up your time dime game.

STEP 4 - Sleep early and rise early
Early to bed is early to rise. Sleeping at 8 and waking at 3 am would not hamper a lot and you would also have much more time than others who wake up at 6 or probably 7 am.
(Tip:- To wake up early, eat a light dinner. This will help you wake up with an energetic mood.)

STEP 5 - Plan your day ahead
Planing for the day early in the morning gives you a rough idea of your day.
You save about 45 minutes of your day too. Now you will not have to waste time thinking what to do and what not to do. 
Planning in the morning with a fresh mood help you plan your day quickly.

STEP 6 - Practice these steps
Until and unless no action is taken nothing in the world is accomplished. 
So move your ass, get up and go manage the dime of your pocket.
